Ruptiv da Reaper is a universal emcee with undeniable range. He’s fully capable of crafting radio ready smash hits while also delivering deep, heartfelt, and even grimy lyrical bangers. There aren’t many beats or styles he can’t demolish. Beyond his lethal lyricism, Ruptiv also brings melodic versatility, showcased in hooks like “Little Slut” on Cocaine Christ: New Crack Release (2010).
On May 6, 2009, Ruptiv signed with Hooded Qobra, aiming to release both a mixtape and a full length album under the label. His mixtape, Ruptiv: Eruption, dropped on July 23, 2010, making an immediate impact in the streets. The highly anticipated LP is already in motion and shaping up to be nothing less than a classic.
When asked about his journey, Ruptiv explained:
“I was inspired by Ludacris and Cassidy at first, then I started diving deeper into music. I didn’t really get serious until I was 17. My friend JJ, aka Apollo da Hollow Man (a former rapper), pushed me and took my music to new heights. Even though I rap, I listen to a lot of R&B and Soul to stay in touch with myself. I’m laid back, goofy, love to have fun, and I’ll make music with anyone who shares the passion.”
On his goals:
“My plan in this business is simple: make it in, build my own company, and give back, to my church, other churches, and my community. I’m not chasing the title of best, I just want to be KNOWN and REMEMBERED for accomplishing BIG THINGS before I leave.”
Still young in the game, Ruptiv remains hungry, and laser focused. His freestyle skills are sharp, his pen game is phenomenal, and his style stays ahead of its time, constantly evolving. He hasn’t even reached his prime yet, but his trajectory is clear: Ruptiv is only going up from here. Stay tuned, the next wave of bangers is on the horizon.
